In Memorium

It is with profound sadness that we announce the June passing of a dear friend of TBS, CHAD resident John Kelly. He was a regular at our senior social for many years. We will miss his bright smile and sweet nature. May his memory be for a blessing.

Farewell from 2007 Student Rabbi Deborah Graetz

Dear Temple Beth Solomon of the Deaf,

Thank you for your support this year. I really enjoyed working with you and having the opportunity to get to know you better. You are truly a warm and welcoming community. I enjoyed learning from you, and look forward to continuing to learn from and with you. As I explained on May 4th, while I will no longer serve as the student rabbi, I will return as a member.

Deborah Graetz Student Rabbi Deborah Graetz

This year, I managed to hold two internships (including TBS), school work and a part time job in the library! Next year, as some of you already know, I will be getting married. As much as I can, I am slimming down my commitments to school and an internship (two weekends a month, I will be working at the Jewish Home for the Aged in San Francisco). This will allow me some time to plan the wedding in the fall, and to enjoy and adjust to married life in the spring. Deciding to not return as a student rabbi next year was a difficult decision because I truly enjoy meeting and working with you (and working on my sign language). Whoever comes to work with you next year, will be very lucky to have you! I hope to introduce you to Eyal (my husband-to-be!) at a Shabbat services in the fall.

Thank you for all the support, smiles, and love. Have a wonderful summer, and I look forward to seeing you in the fall.

May you go from strength to strength, L'shalom,
Deborah Graetz
